Robertson Socket Design is showing great success in our formal studies of this advance in BKA socket design. The new design is the brain child of Earl Robertson, CP, LPO. Earl has taken 4 components that he liked from 4 different types of popular prosthetic socket designs. He incorporated all 4 into his own design. The patients are loving this style of socket stating they feel much more secure and having mort knee flexion especially while sitting. The beauty of this design is the fact that it does not add any extra fabrication time from the cast to the initial check socket. When asked on a 1-10 rating of the socket in several area. 1 being poor and 10 being excellent, the socket has received a 9.8 on all surveys. That is quite remarkable considering the average BKA survey is rated at a 9.5 in all areas.
